Affymetrix Research Services Laboratory (ARSL) is an Affymetrix-owned and -operated, high-throughput genotyping facility that offers affordable and fast genotyping services for large-scale, microarray-based studies. With one of the largest Affymetrix genotyping capacities in the world, ARSL generates high-quality data and enables academic and research institutions to complete their large-scale genotyping studies quickly. Our short turnaround times allow our customers to conduct their data analysis rapidly, improving their time to publication and grant submission.

Axiom™ Genotyping Services

The Affymetrix Research Services Laboratory (ARSL) provides convenient and reliable processing of your Axiom™ Genotyping Solution samples. Our service lab has consistently provided high-quality data for more than 250,000 samples, enabling our customers to complete their genotyping research quickly and affordably. Our staff uses their expert knowledge of best practices to process and analyze your samples, manage your service project from start to finish, and meet your crucial deadlines.

The Affymetrix Research Services Laboratory (ARSL) offers a convenient and reliable alternative for problematic FFPE samples: new copy number services utilizing MIP (molecular inversion probe) technology. Take advantage of our expertise and receive data of unparalleled quality in both absolute copy number and allele copy number information.

Features of MIP Copy Number Services:

  • Molecular inversion probe (MIP) technology requires as little as 75 ng, with a small hybridizing footprint, pairing well with the challenges of FFPE-archived samples.
  • More than 330,000 markers are examined for good coverage across the genome.
  • Absolute copy number data are provided with no modifications, giving you the flexibility to filter and smooth in your downstream analysis to the specificity of your study.

  • Convenience – Sending your FFPE samples to ARSL is a simple, convenient way to complete your study done without acquiring additional lab equipment, training, or expertise.
  • Reliability – ARSL has processed more than 250,000 samples and has the quality systems in place to handle your project with the highest standard of care and excellence.
  • Ease & flexibility – Because this platform only requires a small amount of DNA, your precious FFPE samples can also be used for complementary studies to accompany your MIP copy number data.
  • More complete/novel data – In additional to absolute copy number data, ARSL provides individual allele copy number information, which can be used to detect copy-neutral loss of heterozygosity (LOH), infer contamination of tumor sample with normal tissue, and examine preferential allele amplification. Typical comparative genomic hybridization techniques do not offer this level of information.

Whole-Genome Services

Run your association study with the ARSL. With more than 1.8 million genetic markers, including more than 906,600 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and more than 946,000 probes for the detection of copy number variation, the SNP Array 6.0 represents more genetic variation on a single array than any other product.
