Why didn't Affymetrix use the final assembly of the rat genome for this design? |

When the original Rat Expression 230 Set was designed, a draft assembly of the rat genome was used to improve the design through more robust cDNA sequence orientation calling and trimming of low-quality regions of EST sequences. The current assembly (v3.1) is still in a draft state and a redesign using this newer assembly would result in a minimal improvement in content. |
