Does the protocol also work with RNA samples isolated from whole blood using other methods than the PAXgene Blood RNA system (e.g. Phenol)?
Using whole blood RNA isolated with other methods than the PAXgene RNA system has not been evaluated. The globin reduction procedure using RNA isolated by alternative methods may require protocol modification. Irrespective of the RNA isolation method used, the RNA must first be concentrated according to protocol 1 of the GeneChip Globin Reduction Kit handbook to be at the appropriate concentration and dissolved in Buffer BR5 as required by protocol 2.
