Can I use this method with cord blood?
The benefit of the protocol with cord blood has not been tested. Cord blood is a complex mixture of both maternal and fetal blood and therefore this kit would only be effective in reducing the maternal globin contribution. Additionally, expression results obtained from such a heterogeneous sample source would reflect both the maternal and fetal expression profiles which are likely to complicate the analysis.
