By choosing from a growing menu of application-specific fixed assay kits, researchers can focus on a specific disease area or other focused genotyping applications. These kits have been optimized and validated and are available off-the-shelf ready to support your targeted research interest.
The Affymetrix GeneChip® Human Panel 1 10K cSNP Kit includes a majority of the genes with validated (double-hit) non-synonymous public SNPs that code for functional changes. Most major drug target gene families are represented. By using our panel of validated cSNPs, associations can be directly correlated to biological pathways and gene function due to the causative nature of these amino acid-changing SNPs. A functional SNP approach provides researchers with another method to look at the whole genome in a cost-effective manner.
The Affymetrix GeneChip® Human (Panels 1 and 2) 20K cSNP Kit includes the 10K cSNP in panel 1 (double-hit non-synonymous public SNPs) and an additional 10K cSNPs that have been independently validated at Affymetrix that code for functional changes.
The Affymetrix GeneChip® Mouse Mapping 5K SNP Kit is designed to result in an average of 1,500 informative markers for every cross of 20 common mouse strains. Due to greater marker density and improved spacing, a SNP-based approach to mouse linkage mapping studies using the 5K SNP panel is more efficient relative to conventionally used microsatellite techniques.
The Affymetrix GeneChip® Rat Panel 1 5K SNP Kit - 5000 SNPs originally generated as a custom panel for a private researcher. Now available as a standard product albeit with limited additional information. To learn more about this custom rat panel, please contact your local sales representative.
The Affymetrix GeneChip® Human Immune and Inflammation 9K SNP Kit contains selected informative markers for 1,000 genes that are thought to be involved in the inflammation response and related to the genetics of immunobiology.
The Affymetrix GeneChip® Human MALD 3K SNP Kit is designed for admixture mapping studies or mapping by admixture linkage disequilibrium (MALD). The kit provides a method of localizing genes that cause disease in an admixed ethnic population, for example in the study of the diseases that differ in incidence between partial African and European populations.
The Affymetrix GeneChip® Bovine Mapping 10K SNP Kit contains approximately 10,000 SNPs that are multiplexed in a single assay and allow researchers to perform linkage mapping studies on bovine breeds, without bias towards either beef or dairy. The average number of heterozygote markers is ~3300 in both beef and dairy breeds (Angus, Brahmin, Hereford , Holstein, Jersey, and Limousin).
The Affymetrix® Targeted Genotyping Bovine 25K SNP Panel, offered as a service, provides genotype analysis of approximately 25,000 SNPs discovered through the Bovine Sequencing Project and validated at Affymetrix. The SNPs on the panel were validated across 15 Bos taurus and Bos indicus breeds and include several quantitative trait loci (QTLs) of interest to beef and dairy cattle breeders. The panel also includes SNPs from two African Sanga breeds. Genotype data is generated in a single assay using proven molecular inversion probe (MIP) technology in combination with Affymetrix universal tag arrays.
