The GeneChip® Drosophila Genome Array contains probe sets interrogating more than 13,500 genes from Drosophila melanogaster. Sequences used in the design of this array can be found in Flybase (version 1).
Over 8,000 of the genes represented have at least one EST/cDNA match. Additionally, approximately 3,000 genes were identified using prediction algorithms. The remaining 2,500 sequences not only had a gene predicted algorithmically, but also showed some homology to genes from other organisms. |
