Affymetrix GeneChip® Human Immune and Inflammation 9K SNP Kitには、ヒトの免疫や炎症反応に関係があるとされている約1,000の遺伝子に含まれる9,000を超えるSNPを検出する機能が含まれています。カバーされている1,000の遺伝子は、この分野における主要な研究者の協力により選択されています。また、複数人種のHapMapデータを使用して、これら遺伝子に共通する（5パーセント超）多型にタグを付けるよう、SNPが選択されています。さらに、パネルには約800の認証済み非同義SNPが含まれています。 このパネルにより、コスト効率の良いジェノタイピングを実施し、免疫システムや炎症反応の研究に取り組むことが可能です。 Immune and Inflammation 9K SNP Kitデータは、実績ある分子反転プローブ（MIP）テクノロジーとUniversal Tag arrayを組み合わせて作成され、アフィメトリクスGeneChip® Scanner 3000 TG System でスキャンされます。
