GeneChip® Yeast Genome S98 Arrayには、Saccharomyces Genome Database (1998年12月)内で同定されたS. cerevisiae (S288C株)の遺伝子約6,400に対応するプローブセットが搭載されています。またこのアレイには、推定オープンリーディングフレーム(ORFs)を認識可能なその他のプローブセット（約600）も含まれていますが、これらのORFsは、SAGE分析、ミトコンドリアタンパク質、TYタンパク質、プラスミド、S288C株以外の株に存在する一部のORFsの情報によって同定されたものです。
