GeneChip® Rice Genome Array は、イネのトランスクリプトームを広範にカバーしており、イネの発現解析研究の重要なツールとなります。このアレイは、イネの 2 品種に存在する 51,279種類の転写産物を調べることができるプローブを含んでおり、およそ 48,564 種類のjaponica品種の転写産物と indica 品種由来の1,260種類の転写産物が含まれています。このアレイのデザインは、 Affymetrix® GeneChip Consortia Design Program の一環として作成されており、1枚でイネゲノムの研究が可能なアレイを、研究者の皆様にご提供します。このアレイのデザインに用いた高品質な塩基配列情報はGenBank® mRNA 、TIGR gene prediction およびInternational Rice Genome sequencing projectの公開されたデータを含んでいます。アレイのデザインには、NCBI UniGene Build #52 （2004 年5 月7日）を使用し、GenBank® やTIGR Os1 v2 データセット（ ftp.tigr.org FASTA, 89.3 MB ）の予測される遺伝子も含んでいます。
