GeneChip® Plasmodium/Anopheles Genome Arrayには4,300以上のマラリア原虫（Plasmodium falciparum）の転写産物と、およそ14,900のハマダラ蚊（Anopheles gambiae）の転写産物に対するプローブセットが搭載されています。Plasmodium/Anopheles Genome Arrayは、Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public HealthのMalaria Research Instituteとのコラボレーションのもと、開発されました。
このアレイに採用されているマラリア原虫（P. falciparum）の塩基配列情報は、PlasmodB (version 4.1, 2003年6月)からまず選択され、GenBank®およびdbESTの塩基配列情報が追加されました。
ご注意ください： DsRedプローブセットはBD Biosciences社の許可のもとに供給されています。したがってユーザーは、BD Biosciences社による限定されたライセンスのもと、このプローブセットをアフィメトリクス社のアレイ上でのみ利用することができます。プローブセットやDsRedの塩基配列を他の用途に利用する際には、BD Biosciences社のライセンスが必要となります。
