GeneChip® Maize Genome Arrayは、世界で最も経済的に重要とされている穀物のひとつであるトウモロコシ（Zea mays）の転写産物を調べることができるプローブセットを含んでいます。GeneChip® Maize Genome Arrayを利用すれば、Zea maysの遺伝子発現パターンの研究を通じて、肥料、農薬、成長条件のような外的刺激がおよぼす包括的な転写に対する影響を調べることができます。

GeneChip® Maize Genome ArrayはNCBIのUniGeneデータセットで公開されている100以上の品種を広範にカバーしています。このデータセットには、B73、Ohio43、W22、W23、W64A、Black Mexican Sweetなどが含まれています。
Maize Genome Arrayにはおよそ14,850種類のZea mays転写産物を調べる17,555プローブセットが含まれており、13,339遺伝子（明確なUniGeneクラスターに対応する12,113遺伝子を含む）に相当します。
Power of the Probe Set－この強力なプローブセットをツールとして利用すれば、１つの転写産物に対して複数の独立した測定が行えます。複数のプローブを用いることで、あらゆるマイクロアレイプラットフォームの中でも非常に高精度でしかも再現性の高い解析結果が得られます。
GeneChip® Systemは、豊富なデータと鋭い洞察力、さらに優れた解析評価能力を備えています。

アレイプロフィール

このアレイの塩基配列情報はNCBIのGenBank®（2004年9月29日まで）とZea mays UniGene Build 42（2004年7月23日）データベースを基に選択されています。アレイのプローブセットには個々の転写産物を検出するために15対のオリゴヌクレオチドペアが含まれており、多型の存在下でも高い精度を維持します。
