GeneChip® Cotton Genome Arrayは、21,854種類以上の綿転写産物に対応する23,973個以上のプローブセットから成るGeneChipブランドのシングルアレイです。このアレイのデザインに使われている配列はGenBank®、dbESTおよびRefSeqから選択されたものであり、Gossypium hirsutum UniGeneデータベース（2006年8月、Build2）およびGossypium, raimondii UniGeneデータベース（2005年9月、Build2）から作製されました。これらの配列はCotton Communityの多くの方々の貢献によるものです。また、選択された配列の一部は、GeneChip® Cotton Genome Arrayのデザインを特別に強化するために、寛大にもCotton Community内のグループによる発表に先だって公開可能としていただきました。

GeneChip® Cotton Genome ArrayはGossypium hirsutumn、 Gossypium raimondii、Gossypium arboretumおよびGossypium barbadenseという4種類の綿から得られたEST配列に基づいています。本アレイはAffymetrix® GeneChip Consortia Program の一環として、Cotton Research Community との緊密なコラボレーションの下でデザインされました。
