Canis familiaris（イヌ）は、ヒトの病気の生物医学的研究に重要なモデル生物です。GeneChip® Canine Genome 2.0 ArrayはC. familiarisのmRNAやESTに基づいた18,000の転写産物と、重複しない20,000を超える予測される遺伝子を同時に調べることができるアレイです。

このアレイのデザインの基になる塩基配列情報は、Canis familiaris UniGene Build #11（2005年4月）、GenBank® mRNA（2005年4月15日まで）および、EBIからダウンロード（2005年5月9日）されたBoxer Dog Genome Project (BROADD1 Prediction Set, Broad Institute) 由来の予測遺伝子といった公開データから選択しています。
より詳細な塩基配列情報は、ライブラリーファイルとして、アレイ購入時にCDで提供されます。また、NetAffx™ Analysis Center でも塩基配列情報をご覧いただけます。
