GeneChip Drosophila Tiling 1.0R Array
The GeneChip Drosophila Tiling 1.0R Array is a whole-genome research tool used in many applications, such as transcript mapping and ChIP-on-chip studies.
The GeneChip® Drosophila Tiling 2.0R Array is now available. This second-generation array includes a comprehensive representation of the BDGP release 5 sequence, with particular improvements in heterochromatin coverage compared to the Drosophila Tiling 1.0R Array.
The GeneChip® Drosophila Tiling 1.0R Array is a whole-genome research tool used in many applications, such as transcript mapping and ChIP-on-chip studies.
The Drosophila Tiling 1.0R Array features:
- High-density, 35-base-pair probe spacing, offering an accurate view of novel RNA transcripts.
- 25-mer probes and the Perfect Match/Mismatch paired probe design, ensuring superior accuracy and a high degree of specificity.
- Design based on the Drosophila Genome Project Release 3; probes mapped to Berkeley Drosophila Genome Project Release 4.
This is the first generation of the Drosophila 1.0R Tiling Arrays. Designed by researchers at Affymetrix, the arrays have been cited in a number of publications. The Drosophila Tiling 1.0R Array uses 25-mer oligonucleotide probes, spaced evenly across the Drosophila genome at intervals of approximately 35 base pairs as measured from the center of a probe to the center position of the adjacent probe. Repetitive sequences were eliminated from the design using RepeatMasker software.
Note: Data generated from the Drosophila Tiling 1.0R Array will not be compared to subsequent GeneChip® Drosophila Tiling Array designs.
