		The following is a list of web resources that could be used to add to a full unit on GeneChip® microarrays.

		"DNA Interactive" Site from Cold Spring Harbor Labs

		(Go to "Applications", then "Genes and Medicine", and then "Genetic Profiling") This site has video clips of Affymetrix CEO Steve Fodor explaining the technology, how it was developed, and how it can be used for genetic profiling and therapy. Includes animations of how GeneChip® microarrays work. Free Registration.

		Howard Hughes Medical Institute's "Biointeractive" Site

		*Go here to order a free DVD entitled "Scanning Life's Matrix: Genes, Proteins, and Small Molecules". This DVD has a lecture by Eric S. Lander, Ph D. that goes over how GeneChip microarrays function and how they can be used. It also has some simple animations and slides on these arrays. Also on this site is an article entitled: "The Basics of DNA Microarrays".

		National Center for Biotechnology - Microarray Factsheet

		*NCBI has a web page with information on the different types of arrays as well as an explanation to a lot of the technical jargon used with this technology. Not very interactive, but extremely informative.

		National Human Genome Research Institute's "DNA Chip Technology Factsheet"

		http://www.genome.gov/10000533 *NHGRI has a page that briefly describes DNA chips, how they work and how they are used. Answers the same questions for DNA microarrays.

		Washington Univ. (St. Louis), Computer Science & Engineering Department's "Anatomy of a Comparative Gene Expression Study"

		*A nice explanation of how DNA microarrays fit into a whole study on gene expression. Goes through each step with an explanation. A diagram to illustrate the process is included.

		DNA Microarray (Genome Chip)

		*A large website that combines explanation of the different types of microarrays as well as links to other websites and articles on DNA microarrays.

		Encyclopedia Article on DNA Chips

		*An article that nicely summarizes key information on DNA chips along with links to other key vocabulary words. Also, has a good list of links at the bottom to other sites on DNA chips.
