If the DNA in the sample does not match a probe on the array, then most of the sample DNA will be rejected by the probe. It's like approaching someone at a singles bar and having a drink thrown in your face, you know it's not a match. When this is the case, we will have determined that no goose DNA was present in our original food sample.
