Prokaryotic Target Labeling Assay
The Affymetrix Prokaryotic Target Labeling Assay is used for 3' expression studies with Affymetrix prokaryotic GeneChip® Brand Arrays. The assay utilizes reverse transcriptase and random hexamer primers to produce DNA complementary to the RNA. The cDNA products are then fragmented by DNase I and labeled with terminal transferase and biotinylated GeneChip® DNA Labeling Reagent at the 3' termini. Functionally tested on GeneChip® Brand Arrays, Affymetrix recommends the Prokaryotic Target Labeling Assay and associated reagents for use in prokaryotic gene expression studies.
